Unconscious biases (e.g. based on gender, race, ability, appearance, mannerisms and other characteristics) can lead to preferential treatment of some people and lowered expectations of others. This short course looks at a simple model that many people have found really helpful in giving them the ideas and confidence of how to talk about faith in a multi-religious context.

This is a six-session course designed to form a bridge into the Church of England Birmingham Reader Training programme. 

Readers learn in small supportive formation groups from tutors, teachers and each other. This is an intensive 11-month initial programme which includes confidence building as a preacher and teacher, leader of worship and encourager of mission. It features a four-week placement in another parish, assessed work (written and spoken) and incredible growth and friendships.
