Welcome to Flex, a place designed to help you grow and equip yourself with all you need to deliver high-quality youth and children’s work in your parish and beyond. Whether you are a volunteer, paid employee or just starting out on this journey, you will find something here to fit your learning needs.
Flex comes in different formats:
Pick and Mix
- Design your own journey
- Choose from a variety of modules, as many as you like
- Complete at your own pace, no deadlines
- Modules take between 45 minutes and three hours to complete
- Pause and return to suit your lifestyle
Foundations
- Four self-paced topics consisting of bitesize sessions
- Two intakes per year in Apr and Oct
- Six months to complete
- Starting and ending with a mentoring conversation
- Providing foundational knowledge of youth and children's work
Commissioned
- Become a Commissioned Children's or Youth Worker in your church
- Learn as a group
- Commit to six to nine months of equipping and learning
- In person training and assessed tasks
- Be commissioned in your church
The Hub
The Hub is for Employed Youth and Children's Workers in the Birmingham Diocese, designed to support your continued professional development.
Apply to access: resources, a mixture of in person and online meetings, training and retreat information, and an online forum where you can connect with fellow youth and children's workers to ask for advice, share ideas and contribute to group conversations.
