Welcome to Prayer Spaces in Schools. This module will guide you step by step into how to create, staff, and run your own prayer space for children and young people from the local school, whether in school or your church.
The module uses material from the Prayer Spaces in Schools website, where there are ready-made prayer space packs for you to download as well as space to reflect on your learning. You will be prepared and encouraged to try and run your own prayer space, before returning here to reflect on the outcome and learning.
Desired Learning Outcomes:
- Learn what a 'prayer space' is
- Learn how to set one up and successfully run one
- Learn from others who have had a go
- Feel confident to go and run your own prayer space
This module uses the nine step guide created by the organisation Prayer Spaces in Schools, but also adds to their wisdom and knowledge with some of our own here, from people who have had a go themselves in schools around the Birmingham diocese.
You can do this module on your own or gather a couple of people around you who share your vision and work through it together. There will be lots of practical things to think through as well as some reflection prompts as you first plan your space, and then deliver and reflect on the outcome.
