This module will give you a better understanding of climate change and our role, as a church and as individuals, in responding to it. There are two versions of it: one for all diocesan staff, and another for everyone at parish level. It was launched in 2025, just as CofE Birmingham became the first diocese in the country to achieve Silver Eco Diocese status.
By the end of this module, you will:
- Understand more about the facts and science of climate change, and the need for an urgent response
- Be able to start to think about how you can be part of the solution - in your role within the diocese, your church, your work or your community, and in your personal life.
This module is brought to you by Caroline Egan, Assistant Diocesan Environmental Officer at Church of England Birmingham.
The module consists of video presentations, interspersed with interactive elements and moments to reflect. It is followed by a short quiz based on the module content, and a space to think about what actions you will take forward in your teams or church.
Set aside around 90 minutes to go through everything, although you can take a break and return to the module later if necessary.
