In this module, we explore loss in its widest sense, attempting to help you understand how loss affects family systems. We explore a theory of loss, introduce practical tools and approaches that may be used, and also pay attention to how we look after ourselves.

Pete English is a trainer at The Listening Project, run by bereavement charity AtaLoss. His video here explores how to appropriately help young people and children experiencing bereavement. Self-care and ‘compassion fatigue’ is also highlighted. Practical reflective activities are suggested, and Resources offered – you are encouraged to reflect on how the learning might be applied in your own context.
